Never a Dull Moment
I've mentioned before in my blogs that I work in a studio with many artists. I have a great time. And, every once in a while, I am thrown a challenge and usually I decide to go after the dare!
Over two month ago, just before the holidays, two classmates shared their paint brushes with me -- I don't mean artists' paint brushes, I mean house painters' brushes -- really big ones. One brush was loaded with left-over orange/yellow paint and was accompanied with a bucket of more left-over paint. The other donor shared a paint brush loaded with red paint.
OK...so where did I begin? Even trying to write to explain this piece brings back my fear of making this 3 foot x 4 foot painting work! Holy Cow...but the truth is: I believe I made this painting come to life by finding ways to move the viewers' eyes around the canvas!
But, what you see above is almost three solid weeks of getting past a very timid start. Adding and subtracting take on a much different language when painting, but the foundation works like our math lessons long ago.
