"An Estimated 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic are currently in the oceans, a third
of which is concentrated in the infamous Great Pacific Garbage Patch --
possibly twice the size of the United States! Plastic is one of the biggest
threats to our planet while clogging our neighborhoods, highways, soil, beaches and oceans.
Ocean plastic pollution is killing more than 100,000 marine animals
and birds each year.
We humans are negatively affected as the toxic chemicals in plastics are contaminating our bodies!"
Bringing plastic awareness through art is the goal of this traveling show.
Opening Night drew a great crowd that was very positive about
viewing the presentations and listening to the artists express themselves.
I felt a great connection with each artist and enjoyed
the many conversations I had with visitors.
(Of course, I greatly appreciated having these two pieces included in the show!)
