Back to Basics...working with "left overs"

I have to admit...I am addicted to not throwing anything away. I seem to be sure there is a better purpose for bits and pieces (perhaps better known as "left overs").
With this unrealistic thought, I can work with anything to create something that moves the eye and seeks out a yearning for challenging the flow of what is.
And, the best part is: the application of these pieces, coupled with my love for birch panels, I am not afraid to try anything. The small piece more commonly becomes known as my "sketch." What a treat it is to push myself in another new direction without stopping to hesitate making a number of "littles" which may or may not meet my standards.
This little one inspired me to create a 40" x 30" canvas that is also attached, that I think works out well, too.
But, you be the judge, please. Let me know what you think...send an email to me:

I would love to hear your thoughts.

"Hello Yellow Submarine", mixed media on birch panel, 8" x 6"

"Fun at the County Fair", mixed media on canvas, 40" x 30"
So...what made me do it???
The best part of being my own boss is finding my way.
I love to create shapes, have open spaces and divide my canvas with action and intrigue. My love for painting has continued to grow with my addition of collage.
I truly feel like I am investigating a canvas' space with each line or color I add.  Please tell me what you think. I love comments. Thank you!
