Change is invigorating, constricting, mind boggling, stressful and exciting. And, if I keep my thoughts positive, I know that all the love I experienced in NJ and CA will appear here in Vero Beach as Ned (my husband) and I make connections and become part of our Florida life.
From an artist's perspective, I continue loving the natural light that is available everywhere. The art community is very positive and thoughtful and welcoming. There are art shows regularly, many of which are organized by the Vero Beach Art Club, whose members are dedicated to supporting artists. And, if you read the Vero Beach Magazine, you can meet amazing artists every month. In fact, the artist whose studio I work in -- Deborah Gooch -- was on the cover of the October 2017 issue of Vero Beach Magazine. I took a chance, asked if I could come to meet her, and I was encouraged to do so. The rest is history: I work in her studio at least three days a week with a great group of artists, all of us sharing thoughts and concepts and informal critiques. How wonderful!!!
I continue to believe the best thing to do is to find my comfort zone while making room for change, time for struggling and pushing onward. Nothing is as exciting as growth -- mentally, physically and thoughtfully.
I am finding a new beginning...not bad at my age! (And, to all my NJ and CA friends, please don't feel negative about our family moves...we continue to love each of you!)
