Day 17...Night Has Fallen

I am enjoying the practice of painting with my palette knife because … let’s see, well because it is a solo tool, it is somewhat forgiving, and it won’t allow me to “noodle” my paints too much, which has the added benefit of my not being able to be perfect.

And, I find that this looseness frees me up. And, this process reminds me that I have to see things as values, which assists my understanding of what is going well and what is not going really well.

I am staying happy … the breeze is blowing, the sky is blue, and the tsunami warnings have been lifted from coastal CA. Thank goodness.

The use of a palette knife has certainly changed the appearance of the lovely roses. Almost abstract like. The texture makes them look like older paintings. How wonderful your style, technique and passion for your work elevates daily.
