Would you agree that maybe within our search for just the perfect scenario, there isn't a totally correct solution, but rather many opportunities that work well and do solve the immediacy of the moment?
"Gallant Suggestion" fits the scenarios I have described. The painting is another I created with impasto and my matt knives. I delivered what I wanted: a softness that fit the afternoon light, as well as the frailty of the dying flower. Could my composition have been more subtle, or more defined? Or does this mixture of the moment share life's road in a way that solves the immediate challenge? Does my working hard always get me where I want? I can't really answer the question, mainly because I don't know what I want until I have resolved the issue at hand.
Maybe, this journey is open ended, and the frailty of the challenge is what intrigues me most in my looking for painting and life solutions. And, hopefully there will be tomorrow to start again on the next journey.
