Day Three...moving right along

"Til Death Due Us Part, oil on canvas, 8 x 8"
Relationships: How do you look at relationships? I have landed on this topic because, as I paint, I try to keep my entire painting flowing, and not to get caught up in one area for too long. Otherwise my hovering over that one spot could create an imbalance for the overall painting.
My goal in painting is to create a cohesive image, one that moves, is not stagnant and that has an energy of it's own. Sometimes the process of painting isn't easy, deadlines might interfere with results, and having a bad painting day might be another test to my completing something I enjoy.
But, moving my paint brush around the canvas, giving equal treatment to each segment of the composition, usually accomplishes a positive outcome. Today's painting feels good to me -- and the relationships established reminded me of those commitments one makes when getting married. Each participant has arrived with an intention to enjoy the moment and the journey ahead, while each participant has also landed on this stage with a history unto oneself. It is this combination of data that really makes up this composition -- and the dialogue is just about to begin with the best of intentions and subtle suggestions that life is a journey and this is a freshly presented road to travel. There will be detours, but if one remembers to get back to the basics, to communicate and look forward, the best outcomes will be possible.

Cree! This one speaks volumes. I love the disparate elements and the perspective down the aisle. The overall sense of optimism with mysterious elements left behind, as I sit happily under "Alice Where Are You?"
