How will I conclude 2015 and define where I am going in 2016?
Beginning today ... I will continue recycling my old paintings that haven't made my heart sing. I have set parameters for my new series: my subject matter can vary, but my intention is to include some abstraction in each piece. The fact that I will be working on top of older paintings will actually be very helpful. I am not limiting myself to subject matter, although I plan to stay with my current color palette. I think these decisions will keep this journey challenging and fruitful.
My goal will be to complete a minimum of seven large pieces and 20 small paintings!
Meanwhile, I completed two smaller florals last week. Each piece continued to assist my exploration of spacial relationships and compositional movement. I also was very thankful that a special friend shared her grandmother's beaded strawberries, which made these paintings come full circle. My maternal grandmother's favorite fruit was the strawberry!
