I am enjoying creating art with a new outlook:
whimsical, colorful and
multi-dimensional/non-age specific

Thinking takes time, painting takes even more time, and making connections
with new and consistent clients is the best part of the art process for all of us!

The Vero Beach Art Club had a "small size painting" show in October, 2020.
And, lucky me received the first place in Oil!
Truthfully, I was delighted.

Cree's collages continue ... with a bit more white space than before
Today, Cree is sharing another image in her new exploration of compositional space.
It is funny what motivates her to create a new focus. She often attends classes to learn more about being an artist. She has enjoyed studying with Ann Rae of Art Biz Academy, Alyson Stanfield of Art Biz Coach, and Jason Horejs with Xanadu Gallery. She has appreciated the many artists in her classes as well as her coachs. One artist, a paper maker, Helen Hiebert from Helen Hiebert Studio, has become a friend and her paper supplier. Cree is thrilled to work with Helen's handmade paper.
Cree combines her drawings while working with miscellaneous paper culled from her vast collection of "stuff".
@creescudder, “Just South of the Chateau”, mixed media on canvas, 24 x 36"
WAHOO!!!
"Shrinked Wrapped", mixed media on canvas, 40" x 15"
was accepted in the Alliance for the Arts'
30th Annual Florida Juried Exhibition, January-March 2020

A Cree painting was accepted in
the Vero Beach Art Club's "Art by the Sea Show"
Seeing another "Cree" painting in a juried show at the Vero Beach Museum of Art is always exciting.
She was very thankful to be in town to see the magnificent show,
plus receiving many nice compliments was lovely.
And, for her to see the vast array of magnificent pieces was purely magical.

Wonderful Surprises Include Working with Friends
and Meeting New Art Lovers
As you can see Cree has created a new painting that looks very much like her painting Days of Thunder that is currently touring thru Mexico. Sometimes when a new project lands on one's lap it is important to balance all the bits and pieces that are involved.
This particular situation worked out well. The Mexican tour that Days of Thunder is traveling with does not have a current deadline. Cree's CA friends have been terrific in sending paintings created by a group of artists from San Diego to Mexico City and beyond. The tour started in July 2019, long before a wonderful Florida interior designer spotted the painting on Cree's website and discussed the piece with her client. Both client and designer were patient with Cree's explanation that she couldn't get the painting out of the scheduled voyage.

Look at Cree's art that is traveling around the world -- at least Mexico and Spain
Days of Thunder and The Tower of Babble have been touring through Mexico along with works created by several San Diego artists.
Cree feels so fortunate to have met Laura Lehman and Luis Alderete, founder of Paisanos Mex/USA. Together they have graciously introduced her work and works created by many other San Diego artists for the last two years in Mexico. This tour is about to end, however they are gearing up for another tour which is heading for Spain. Mixed News from Wall Street, collage on birch, 12" x 12" is scheduled for the special European show. "How very fortunate I am!" exclaims Cree. |

Vero Beach Art Club's "Art by the Sea Show"
shared the works of many talented artists
Vero Beach Art Museum
February 17, 2019
including one of my pieces

Honorable Mention, The Emerson Center, May 2018
In Florida now, my relocation from California has found me knocking on doors
to introduce myself, see local art and meet members of the Vero Beach art community.
The piece above, which was part of a series actually created in California, was a wonderful opportunity
to delve into the unknown. The fun of creating a landscape I had seen in many moments along the road while driving back and forth across
the country with Ned (my husband) and Barrett (our black Labrador). Evenings were meant for checking into the hotel allowing me to conjure up interior spaces, as well as a review of our life full of adventure and humorous thoughts of grown up children and a little hint of travel!
Always fun to be invited to The Artists' Guild Gallery in Vero

The Final Charm of It All

This is a delightful piece that I worked on for years.
Funny, but in the studio, I can hang a painting on the wall and work at it for days on end or year after year just hoping to capture the significance of the moment.
I was finally lucky!
My last open house in CA brought the buyer into the
studio and "Only on Sunday" went to a special new home on the Pacific Ocean, where it will live happily ever after.

I stretched my blanket!
This testing process was a CA 2016 process...
I am always looking for a challenge.
Thus, I prepared 12 x 12" "sketches" on birch boards for this painting series.
The larger finished pieces were each completed in acrylic and collage
on 30 x 30" canvas. I loved the process, the challenge and the results.

Artist's Statement
A Sense of Humor
"Alice Where Art You?," mixed media, 30" x 40" resides in Florida! SOLD
If you hadn't notice already....I do have a sense of humor! |
With a life full of traveling, especially around the USA by car, I believe my husband, Ned and I have collected some of the wildest photographs and memories of our journeys.
We have walked many miles in almost every state. We have climbed mountains, followed streams and walked along railroad tracks. We have stopped at junk yards, open houses, antique stores and small town restaurants just to get a feel for life in other |
places. We have driven most of Route 66, why not??? Inspired as kids by the television series, the two of us have wanted to connect with our country and the most amazing folks who live here!
Probably parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway remain our favorite road trips...but don't worry. Now that we have moved back to the east coast, we have plans to check out other highways during travels to Montreal, Canada and back to Vero Beach, Florida. |
Community Service....
For years and years, Cree supported the San Diego Alzheimer's Association while living in this special part of the country! She took it upon herself to assist the organization in finding artists who would contribute artwork to an annual fundraiser to develop art education for persons with Alzheimer's. 2020 was a successful year for the Alzheimer's Association, and as always many of the ArtSix members contributed their time and art.
Not too Long Ago..

Truly is seems like yesterday when I joined this marvelous group of artists to participate in our first gallery show together at Noel Baza in March 2011. Each artist has her own persona and her paintings declare exactly who she is. Alison Haley Paul knocks out landscapes that literally will knock you out with their gentle, soft meandering colors and bold use of matt knives all over her surfaces.
Brenda York is stuck on her characters. Each is unique and it is a wonder that there are enough dis-similarities that you can begin to identify her characters just walking into a room.
Then there is Maite Agahnia whose flair is magnificently genuine! Her paint application also speaks loudly and clearly and her images build with one layer and then another. (I am in this group, but you are on my website page and you can see my work.) And, tallest of all is Bronle, and her pieces are subdued, lyrical, personal and of natural elements.
Wow! And, I was included with these lovely artists for the first time as we began ART SIX!
